Conclusion Letter
Time has reached to the end of the semester and the end of the biology course. Much time has been spent in this class concerning all the different and vast concepts about grade 11 biology. The topics learned through this semester was biodiversity, genetics, evolution and internal systems. Much of the concepts being taught were accompanied by highly interactive activities done in the class to learn more about the topics. In the biodiversity unit I learned about kingdoms, domains and cells. In the second unit, I learned how DNA plays an important role on how a person physically appears. For the third unit, I learned about Charles Darwin's natural selection theory. Lastly, for the fourth unit I learned about the important internal systems that are in our body; circulatory, respiratory and digestive system. Anyhow, the course content is relevant for every profession and should be important to have an understanding of.
Anyhow, my overall learning experience for this course was beyond amazing since I have increased my knowledge about the human body. I now understand how and why a person physically appears; because of genes, how organisms evolved overtime to diverse species, a more detailed anatomy of the internal systems and different kingdoms in biodiversity. Lastly, before starting the course I did not have significant knowledge of how different species evolved overtime in the world, I did not have an accurate knowledge about genetics and did not understand how different systems in the internal systems are connected and help maintain the productivity of the body.
In addition, this course has influenced my learning strategies because the learning strategies that I suggested at the beginning of the course I tried implementing. Of the two learning strategies I suggested, I followed motivation more than time management skills because the more passion a person has, the quality of the work will be excellent. Moreover, during the semester self motivation and my classmates aided me in understanding the course material.
In conclusion, this semester was well appreciated and beneficial to my knowledge about the human body, but there can be some course improvement for other students that will be taking the grade 11 biology course for the next school year. Some course improvements for next year's class is to have more interactive sessions, a unit schedule, and more independent work instead of partner work. More interactive sessions will be a huge improvement since some students have different learning skills and strategies to help them learn effectively. Also, a unit schedule will be extremely helpful since students can keep track of their assignments at the starting of course units. This also, promotes productivity and time management. Lastly, there should be more independent work so students can focus on themselves, because independent work can show how much the student knows by him/her self without partner help.
